Something vulgar and real. Yes.

Like most high brow institutions, the Harvard library has a selective and shortened memory. Alas. To say the Chronicles have been banned is a misunderstanding. They have not been banned. They have been obliterated.

I admire your moxy and hope your search (if it continues) proves propitious.

I should like to see this cat of "remarkable girth and momentum." Where, might I ask, did you last see it?

Dear Mr. s Todd and Shugars

I have met this dog Spot, or one like him, also with a black mark and four legs. I knew a three-legged cat once, but his name was not Spot. However, I have met a cat named Spot, of remarkable girth and momentum.

On another note, having access to the vast resources of Harvard University's library collection, I took it upon myself to search for The Chronicles of Herman Clown (knowing, for instance, that within its vast stacks reside even several copies of the Necronomicon). The results are as follows:

Lothar and Eva Just Film Still Collection, G-L [graphic]

George Brinton Beal papers, circus collection, and other theatrical collections, 1862-1969

Casper Citron collection of theater programs, 1970-2001

Harvard Art Museum, Exhibition Records, 1905-2008

Faster than even I could have imagined, the world has forgotten about Herman Clown. I remember reading The Chronicles for the first time in my youth, and finding in its depths something vulgar and real I'd been yearning for. I am sorry to find that the powers that be have deemed it unsuitable for today's audience, but as history dictates, all banned books become at some point un-banned--we can only hope to see this change in our lifetimes.
